Carey Channing
Dancer, Actor, Choreographer
Meet
Carey!

As a toddler, Carey's parents took her to see the touring production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. She noticed young children in the cast and NEEDED to be part of the show. After throwing a tantrum (as 2-year-olds do) wanting to be on stage, Carey's mom cleverly replied, "diapers won't fit under the costume"... A week later Carey was potty trained. This anecdote is an example of the determination, passion, and love for the arts that has been rooted in Carey her whole life.
Growing up in Memphis, TN, Carey trained to be a versatile dancer, splitting her time between a competition studio and ballet school. In high school, she was awarded scholarships to attend summer programs in NYC & LA, as well as assisted at dance conventions around the country. Carey attended The University of Arizona, graduating with a BFA in Dance and minor in Film & TV.
Carey started her professional career performing in Spectra's Cabaret with Royal Caribbean. Next she followed her dreams of moving to New York City, where she's had the privilege of training with and assisting the industry's top choreographers. Carey's career spans from Film to TV to Theater. Job highlights include: HAMILTON, Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Elf the Musical National Tour, Nickelodeon, NBC Upfronts, Tuacahn Center for the Arts, Broadway Bares, and the documentary Sidelined.

In recent years, Carey has fallen in love with the creative process. She has assisted choreographers during the creation of Broadway musicals, cruise ship shows, and other productions. Her diverse training and career shines through in her own teaching and unique choreography. Carey has taught classes and set choreography on studios around the country. Most recently, she has choreographed musical productions for Naples Performing Arts Center and Florida Children's Theater including Mean Girls, Grease, and The Heathers.
